`
`first insulating substrate,
`
`
`
`a plurality of color filters are formed on the second insulating substrate, and
`
`one of the plurality of light sensors overlaps with one of the plurality of color filters
`
`in a plan View with the liquid crystal interposed therebetween.
`
`
`
`(Previously Presented) The image display apparatus according to claim 1, wherein
`
`a signal processing circuit is provided over the main face of the first substrate for
`
`generating a control signal to change the brightness of a backlight on the basis of the output
`
`of the plurality of light sensors.
`
`(Previously Presented) The image display apparatus according to claim 2, wherein
`
`the signal processing circuit is composed of a semiconductor film which is the same
`
`layer as an active layer of the thin~film~tiansiston
