`Claims 3 is rejected under pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 103(a) as being unpatentable
`
`over Hisada et al. in view of Wirtanen, further in view of Kim, US Patent

`Publication 2008/0165154.
`
`Regarding claim 3, Hisada et al. in view of Wirtanen teach the display apparatus
`
`according to claim 1. Hisada et al. in view of Wirtanen do not discuss the device
`
`wherein when the firet eperetien screen image is dieeteyed, detection sensitivity ef the
`
`ieuctt panel is set iewer than that when the eeeend eperetien screen image is dieeleyed.
`
`Kim teaches the apparatus wherein when the first operation screen image is displayed,
`
`detection sensitivity of the touch panel is set lower than that when the second operation
`
`screen image is displayed (paragraph 0058 explains that touch sensitivities are
`
`determined and adjusted based on information from a processor where paragraphs
`
`0093-0103 explain further specifically how the touch sensitivities are adjusted based on
`
`user preference. Thus, the user may select different sensitivities based on the
`
`requirements of each screen.). It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the
`
`art at the time of the invention to include different touch sensitivities in the same device
`
`taught by Kim in the system of Hisada et al. in view of Wirtanen. The rationale to
`
`combine would be so that the user can select the touch sensitivity most suitable to him
`
`or her to prevent the generation of a touch result that the user does not intend to obtain
`
`(paragraph 0104 of Kim).

`Response to Arguments
`
`Applicant's arguments filed 9/13/16 have been fully considered but they are not
`
`persuasive. Applicant contends that Wirtanen does not teach a matrix that changes the
`
`button size and also does not teach matrix sizes where one side is more than 1. The
`
`examiner disagrees. Wirtanen teaches different size buttons between figures 2-3 and
`
`the use of a 3 x 4 and 4 x 3 layout of buttons between figures 4-5. As given in
`
`paragraph 0027 of Wirtanen, these are different exemplary layouts that may be used for
`
`different orientations.
`
`Conclusion
`
`Applicant's amendment necessitated the new ground(s) of rejection presented in
`
`this Office action. Accordingly, THIS ACTION IS MADE FINAL. See MPEP
`
`§ 706.07(a). Applicant is reminded of the extension of time policy as set forth in 37
`
`CFR1.136(a).
`
`A shortened statutory period for reply to this final action is set to expire THREE
`
`MONTHS from the mailing date of this action.
`
