`
`AMENDMENTS TO THE CLAIMS
`
`This listing of claims will replace all prior versions andlistings of claims in the
`
`application.
`
`Listing of Claims:
`
`1.
`
`(Currently Amended) A terminal comprising:
`
`circuitry, which, in operation, selects one generation method from a plurality of
`
`generation methodsfor reference signals, wherein the one generation method is uniquely
`
`correlated with a parameter selected from a numberof terminals that transmit the reference
`
`signals in a partial band obtained by dividing a system band, a bandwidth of the partial band, or
`
`combs constituting the partial band; and
`
`a transmitter, which, in operation, transmits the reference signals generated in
`
`accordance with the selected generation method.
`
`2.
`
`(Original) The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry, in operation,
`
`selects the one generation method in accordance with power headroom ofthe terminal or a path-
`
`loss level of the terminal.
`
`3.
`
`(Original) The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry, in operation,
`
`selects the one generation method in accordance with a transmission bandwidth of the terminal.
`
`4-5.
`
`(Canceled)
`
`6.
`
`(Original) The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry, in operation,
`
`selects the one generation method in accordance with a type of the reference signals.
`
`7.
`
`(Original) The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry, in operation,
`
`selects the one generation method in accordance with a type of a service performed by the
`
`terminal.

`
`8.
`
`(Original) The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry, in operation,
`
`selects the one generation method in accordance with a subcarrier spacing specified for the
`
`terminal.
`
`9.
`
`(Original) The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the circuitry, in operation,
`
`selects the one generation method in accordance with a frame format type specified for the
`
`terminal.
`
`10.
`
`(Original The terminal according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of generation
`
`methods include a first generation method by which each ofthe reference signals is generated by
`
`using one code sequence and a second generation method by which each ofthe reference signals
`
`is generated by concatenating one or more code sequences.
`
`11.
`
`(Currently Amended) A communication method comprising:
`
`selecting one generation method from a plurality of generation methodsfor
`
`reference signals, wherein the one generation method is uniquely correlated with a parameter
`
`selected from a numberof terminals that transmit the reference signals in a partial band obtained
`
`by dividing a system band, a bandwidth of the partial band, or combs constituting the partial
`
`band; and
`
`transmitting the reference signals generated in accordance with the selected
`
`generation method.
`
`12.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, comprising selecting
`
`the one generation method in accordance with power headroom ora path-loss level.
`
`13.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, comprising selecting
`
`the one generation method in accordance with a transmission bandwidth.
`
`14.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, comprising selecting
`
`the one generation method in accordance with a type of the reference signals.
`
`
`
`Application No. 16/606,395

`
`15.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, comprising selecting
`
`the one generation method in accordance with a type of a service.
`
`16.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, comprising selecting
`
`the one generation method in accordance with a subcarrier spacing.
`
`17.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, comprising selecting
`
`the one generation method in accordance with a frame formattype.
`
`18.
`
`(New) The communication method according to claim 11, wherein the plurality of
`
`generation methods includea first generation method by which each of the reference signals is
`
`generated by using one code sequence and a second generation method by which eachofthe
`
`reference signals is generated by concatenating one or more code sequences.
