`PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectanquiar cell of which, a lead, drawn out

`from an electrode plate group, connected to a sealing plate, and housed in an inner

`space of a cell case by folding info meandering shape, does not generate internal short-

`circull caused by contacting withthe cell case, anc to provide a manufacturing methad
`
`of the same.

`SOLUTION: The lead drawn out from the electrode plate group is folded into a prescribed

`iengih so as to have at least two folded parts, and the lead folded into meandering shape

`is positioned with high precision so as not to contact with the cell case when inserting
`
`the electrode plate group into the cell case, by the above, an insulation frame body can

`be arranged between the cell case and the folded lead.

`prismatic battery and a bending procedure of a lead previously proposed by the present
`
`applicant.

`electrode plate group & in a battery case 9 in a square battery proposed by the applicant,

`prismatic battery, there is a problern that the bent portion of the lead cannot be accurately

`determined, and the bent lead passes over the insulating member around the terminal

`and comes into contact with the inner surface of the sealing plate and the battery case,

`causing an internal short circuit.

`improvement in a lead which is drawn out from one pole of an electrode plate group

`accommodated in a square batiery case and whase tip portion is connected to an internal

`terminal of a terminal partion provicied in a sealing plate, wherein a lead is provided with

`At least 2 bent parts (preferably at 3 positions) are provided at intervals, and thelead is

`folded at the bent pari when the case is closed by the sealing plate and is foided in a

`meandering state so as not to come into contact with the inside of the battery case.

`for example, and to bend the portion selectively at a portion where the rib or the like is
