As to Claim 5: JP’345 discloses the managemeni device enhances cooling ability of a cooling unii when the management Cevice detects an electriciy storage module including an abnormal cell (see “... vahue exceeds the value, or when the vahie of the pressure sensor 30 is below the limi reference valua, the pump drive contro!
teted the management device is configured to compare a detection value acquired from one sensor mourned on one electricity storage module to be inspected out of the plurality of electricity storage modules and detection vailies acquired from other sensors mounted on other electricity storage modules, and io detect an abnormality in at least one of the cells included in the one electricity storage madule to be insnected (see “... surface pressure may rise abnormally locally between adjacentsingle batteries...”, [0004];“... deformation of the battery and the internal short circuit of the battery due to the application of a large pressure to thecell 1...”, [0037-0040] — the claim doesnotspecifically that the signal values are comparedto each other; thus,it is reasonable that the signal values can be comparedto a reference values instead.

CYLINDRICAL SECONDARY BATTERY, 16/762,720, No. KZ2TF8MKLDFLYX5 (U.S. Pat. App. Feb. 2, 2022)
Iwasaki discloses a vertical cross sectional view of the battery cell which showsa stack of 5 positive electrodesin the radial direction in a winding electrode group (Fig. 1, col. 22, lines 48-65).
Masumoto teaches that this structure has high sealing properties, great battery capacity, and reliable low resistive coupling between the current collector lead and an electrode terminal ([0013]).
This modified structure would yield the expected results of high sealing properties, great battery capacity, and reliable low resistive coupling between the current collector lead and an electrode terminal.

It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art at the time of filing to modify the NiOx electron blocking layer of Mitchell by depositing it through the method as disclosed by Hufnagel because it will result in lower impurity concentration of carbon, which would include carbon within the range claimed and have excellent electron blocking capabilities and lower pinhole formation.
Application/Control Number: 17/324,166 Art Unit: 1726 Page 6 It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art at the time offiling to modify the device of Mitchell to include the circuitry as disclosed by Miyake including the charge accumulation area and a charge detection circuit because it will allow for the device to operate as a photodetector unit which Mitchell suggests thatit is possible to do so.
